Be immersed in nature and surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Costa Rican jungle
Located in the north section of Playa Pelada, Nosara Springs is Nosara’s newest neighborhood — and its best kept secret!
Situated in a pristine section of old growth forest, Nosara Springs sits just south of the Rio Nosara. It is adjacent to the Boca Nosara (or river mouth) area.
Only an 8-minute drive from the world-class surfing and bustling restaurant scene of Playa Guiones, Nosara Springs is centrally located near everything Nosara has to offer. But, rather uniquely, it is also removed enough to give you a true Costa Rican, jungle experience.
Wake-up to the sounds of soft, flowing water & local wildlife
Nosara Springs is a haven for birders and wildlife enthusiasts alike
Nosara Springs is located on the border of the Nosara Biological Reserve, which is accessible via the beautiful, Lagarta lodge hotel.
The private 35-hectare reserve features scenic walking trails, which lead through 300-year old mangroves, down to the river and adjacent beach. Visitors to the area should stop by the Lagarta lobby to pick up a map of the grounds, as well as for some self-guided tour options. This is a great spot for birding as well as wildlife-watching. Boat tours of the mangroves, along with guided kayak tours are also available through several local guides and are a great way to partake in crocodile-spotting.
In addition to the Biological Reserve, Nosara Springs is also a short drive to the SIBU Wildlife Sancutary. The Ostional National Wildlife Refuge, which is famous for it’s black sand and the hundreds of thousands of sea turtles that nest there, is also within easy driving distance.
Grab your morning coffee and walk to two of Nosara’s most beautiful beaches
Part of the appeal of the Nosara Springs area is that it is walking distance to the beach. Both Playa Pelada and Playa Nosara are walkable — in about 12 to 15 minutes — by way of a network of jungle paths.
Villas NIMBU guests often make an iced cup of local Beach Blend Coffee and walk to the north-most end of Playa Pelada for a morning swim.
Later in the day, guests who are more experienced surfers may forgo the famous waves in Playa Guiones for the less crowded Playa Nosara. There, they can catch some excellent barrels during strong southern and southwesterly swells.
Return home to the jungle and watch the universe pass you by
